We had to take someone else home San.
The nice barrow has not returned yet.
You'll have to use the old one out back for Murph.

You got it, Wayne. Went through there from Hilltop Community Park (managed to stay clipped in and jump the Tricross through that section, but it took a while). The microwaves are about 1550'. Went from there out on miner's ridge and then the east rim. Not a lot of mileage in total, but I was dogged by the time I got back to the car.

She needs the good barrow more than Murph. He's still standin', so there's hope.

How old you think I am, he said
And I said, "well, I don't know".
He said "I turned 65, 'bout eleven months ago.

I was sittin', in Miami, pourin' blended whiskey down.
When this old, gray, black gentleman,
was cleanin' up the lounge.

Well, there wasn't anyone around
'cept this old man and me.
The guy who ran the bar, was watchin'
"Ironsides" on TV.
And uninvited, he set down,
and opened up his mind,
on old dogs, and children,
and watermelon wine.

Have you ever had a drink
of watermelon wine, he asked.
He told me all about it, though
I didn't answer back.
He said, "Ain't but three things
in this whole world,
worth a solitary dime.
'Cept old dogs, and children,
and watermelon wine.

He said "you know, women, think
about themselves,
well, when menfolk aren't around.
And friends are hard to find, when
they discover that you're down.
He said, "Son, I tried it all
when I was young,
and in my natural prime.
Now it's old dogs, and children,
and watermelon wine.

He said "you know old dogs
care about you, even
when you make mistakes.
God bless little children, while
they're still too young to hate.
When he moved away, I found my pen
and copied down that line.
'Bout old dogs, and children,
and watermelon wine.

I had to catch a plane up to
Atlanta, that next day.
As I left for my room,
I saw him pickin' up my change.
That night I dreamed in peaceful sleep
of shady summertime.
'Bout old dogs and children,
and watermelon wine.

Pete's Pub (complete with buns in the window - obviously a quality place)

Murph, that's the Redhead!!

I brought her home from the bar one night, and showed her my "differential shaft", and the next day, she had me down to the JP, and that was all she wrote!

Yeah, I can see where they would have a problem. Ummm, why don't you wait until you get

Dirt man that piece of equipment in your picture was probably a New Idea hay loader from the past......................................

Image

This one would make a great lawn ornament up there in Orangeville or you could use for loading loose hay onto your wagon as you pull it through the hay field. Just think, no more heavy, back breaking bales to lug around. Just feed it loose from the wagon. It will require a bit of minor repair before use....................

My gosh, I don't check the Jungle for a day, and it takes me fifteen minutes to read it.

Do any of you hobos know the truth about tire pressure in subzero temps? Do the tires lose air that never returns? What should you set them at for winter compared to summer? Do you reduce pressure for summer, increase for cold? I keep getting varied opinions and I want fact.

When I lived in Ohio,I added air in the winter and let some out in the summer.Always checked the tires before driving, made notes of each tires pressure and adjusted each tire ao the recommended pressure.Helps the tire mileage snd the MPG.

FACT: For every temperature reduction of 10-11 degrees, tire pressure will drop 1psi.
Need 32psi cold, always set tire pressure at cold (whatever ambient temp is at the time), but it's 68 degrees in your garage, set tire pressure to 36 to 37 psi for temps 20 degrees and colder. When the tires get warmer from driving, (and the front even warmer still from extra weight and brake heat), they will gain tire pressure, but in extreme cold temps, pressure gain is negligent, and loss of pressure is the norm.

By federal law, all 2008 and up vehicles have a tire pressure monitoring system, whether equipped with ABS and ESP, or not. Tire pressures are monitored (in Chrysler vehicles) by the Wireless Ignition module. The valve stems in the wheels are actually small radio transmitters with a long-life lithium battery for memory, but get excited by tire rotation and broadcast pressure to the WIN module. The cold tire pressure, (a black and yellow tag on the driver door post or B-pillar), is programmed in, along with the minimum tire pressure that the tire can work with. These are called Thresholds. When the tire exceeds the Minimum threshold, the little radial tire with the exclamation mark in it lights up on the dash. Premium Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems will light up with the pressure of all 4 tires and the pressure in each, alerting the driver to the specific low tire.

Tramp,

No, tires do not loose air that never returns because of temperature changes. To repeat what Mitch said...

The gas law: P = V x T
Volume is a constant so we may ignore the size of the tire and write Pressure is proportional to Temperature were Temperature (T) is in Kelvins.
If P1 is the pressure at Temperature T1 and P2 is the pressure at T2 we may solve for P2 as follows:
P2 =( P1 x T2) / T1
For example:
P1 = 35 psig, T1 = 68 °F, T2 = 58 °F. What is P2?
68 degree Fahrenheit = 293.15 kelvin (293 rounded)
58 degree Fahrenheit = 287.5944444 kelvin (288 rounded)
P2 = (35 x 288) / 293 = 34 psig

P1__T1__T2_P2
35__68__68_35
35__68__58_34
35__68__57_34
35__68___0_30
35__68_-10_30 *
35__68_110_38

* Ten to eleven degree rule is not exact.
Pressure at 0 °F is 30.49 psig and at -10 °F is 29.83 psig.

I let air out in the summer to maintain desired pressure (and add air in winter.)
