Is the person in the picture a relative, maybe your father ?

Do you know anything about the rifle. It looks like a Remington pump action model 14/141 probably in 35 Rem ?

Hondo, I got no details on the photo. Picked it up while sorting through images at the Library of Congress. Just thought it was a neat picture.

I like the picture. just though maybe you were related to it.

Deer season 2018 Missouri.
Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation shows deer hunters in Missouri killed 99,567 deer Nov. 10-11. Of the deer killed, 55,887 were antlered bucks, 9,573 were button bucks and 34,107 were does. Last year, hunters checked 94,886 deer during the opening weekend.

I am not a hunter, but I like venison. My son in Kansas used to go deer hunting but he helped a good friend set up a processing facility at his place in the country so now he gets all he want. He usually gives me some. :D

I think they must have all passed thru my yard on their way to glory in Missouri. Bravo the hunters! :?

Yeahbut, wild turkeys waddle thru the yard, too, in cute little gaggles. Maybe, I'll just go out, good little (well, relatively "little" ) hunter-warrior that I am 8) , and grab one by the neck and wring it, bring it in the house :? , and plop it on the kitchen counter and say to my wifey, "Here. Fix this." Yup. Uh huh.
Or maybe we will simply call up the local quality restaurant and have them prepare and deliver the whole meal on Thursday. :D Like last year. :D

To me, turkey is nothing to give thanks for. I think I would enjoy shooting them, because they're so damned ugly, but I don't consider them any treat to eat. I'd much rather have a good steak, or prime rib. And, who came up with pumpkin pie? Barf.

I never could get past having to shove my hand up that giggi to remove all the packaged innards, and then wash it out, and then stuff it with junk. Yuk. Gross. Yuk. Plus, the skin back there looks and feels so much like...….oh nevah mind……….

That would tend to indicate that you've never had one properly prepared - most folks can't cook turkey (wild or otherwise) any better than they can cook an old shoe.

If I had some ham, I could have ham & cheese, if I had some cheese.............

You've apparently let a sheltered life where all meat has been prepared for you w/o any personal involvement, never cooked for yourself(??!!), and jut want to believe that meat magically arrives wrapped in plastic on Styrofoam in grocery stores.

BTW, never, ever stuff a turkey - great way to end up in the ER. Wait? Why would you stuff it with junk? Good Grief!!!!
