Exaclty my point (but I didn't have the kahoonahs to say it.) Yet, I did have a glass (precisely two sips) of a warm, brown substance at a tavern (ww?) in England , back in the late 60's, and thought it tasted and felt like old pudding (sorry Britbloke and Sarge.) A few years ago, I had some Sam Adams and found it to be just-OK when served over an ice slush, imbibed very quickly.
