Here's one of my old rides. I bought it from the brothers in Chicago for a Ben and a half. It had plywood floors and it ran seven thousand miles without a hitch. The arrows were my addition. Came with four tire irons.

Nice ride. Looks like a '68. I remember when the Chevy Nova was a real car, not a pretend car like it turned into in 1985.

As I was getting my bicycle ready for a ride this morning, I noticed a large variety of butterflies swarming around my wife's Red Bird of Paradise (Caesalpinia pulcherrima.)
I took time out to photograph a couple of them.

This is a Giant Swallowtail (Papilio cresphontes).
If you click on the image a Black Swallowtail (Papilio polyxenes) will appear.

I got some cool video shot at the end of the runway. Nothing like a bomber flying right over your head. Now if I can only figure out how to upload the film.....

San,

Thank you. All bike rides are great in Tucson. I have been here 37 years and riding through saquaro forests still freaks me out. It is like being on vacation in a
strange land.

Jim,

Last year I saw a P-51, P-38 and F-15 flying in formation over Davis-Monthan AFB here in Tucson. I had to stop driving to watch. The P-51 and P-38 were just
screaming across the sky. The F-15 was flying nose high trying to go slow enough to keep in formation. I was also impressed with the size of the F-15. It looked
about twice as big as the WW II fighters.

North American P-51 Mustang
Length: 32 ft 3 in
Maximum speed: 437 mph

Lockheed P-38 Lightning
Length: 37 ft 10 in
Maximum speed: 414mph

McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle
Length: 63 ft 9 in
Maximum Speed: 1,650 mph

I caught the beginning of the closing ceremonies of the Commie Sponsored Olympics tonight. What a hoot!!! It looked like something only Dr. Seuss could have come up with after a week of drinking Mad Dog 20/20!!!!. Fuckin' commies!!!   Speaking of stupid... My kid was a bit under the weather this morning so I hung out and watched a bit of the Today Show in China. Do I really give a shit if Lester can play the bass or Jenna does Kung- Fu shit? And I sometimes work with these people... I get embarrassed by some of the crap that goes through our trucks but at the end of the day it all pays the bills.
