Ok, so it's not on a convenient 6 lane super highway............but it's less that 2 hours from DC and not at all hard to get find or get to either.
You live in the area...

Every year I think I'm going to get over the mountain and visit again, and don't get there. The trolley museum has some very nice equipment and they operate regularly. Been too long.....

Really...two hours from DC? Hammer down, mate. I can barely get to Gettysburg in 45 minutes.

According to Google it’s just an hour and fifty-four minutes to Orbisonia from here. Seems hard to believe, but I should try it.

What, you drive like a 90 year old lady in her Studebaker? Then again, maybe not - it's +80 miles to the 'Burg from DC so if you're doing that in 45 min, you're driving that Panamera,

In any case, up 270 to Frederick (65 mph or better), 70 to Hagerstown (75 mph or better), 81 (70 mph or the trucks push you off the road) to a few exits up into PA and then it's back roads to 75 and over the mountain on 641. Short hop up 522 and you're in Orbisonia,

It used to be a few minutes faster to get off I-70 on the west side of Hagerstown and take the 2-lane roads north from there.... but taking I-81 made sense when I wanted to stop for a meal or supplies on the way.

I used to stay in Breezewood during the Fall Spectaculars - that was about a 45-minute drive to Orbisonia.

I used to stay at my place the next valley over up the road from Spring Run. Wait! I still stay there,
