In my take parents citizenship has no bearing, its place of birth? How am I wrong on this ? God told me to ask this question ? PLEASE no one take offense at this am merely pokeing fun at the uptight and I don't mean you Sir.
Actually, the laws regarding citizenship by parentage are pretty straightforward, and protect both the child's right to US citizenship whilst borne overseas (for example of military mothers or parents, Foreign Service, evangelical, &c) and a child's citizenship claim to another country if borne in the USA of parents with citizenship in that other country under similar circumstances.
Being retired from both military and civil service, and having served this country overseas for extended periods, I have no problem with those laws.
