Re: Hobo Jungle
No wonder I can see the Andromeda galaxy from my back yard, it is getting closer every second. Soon I will look up and see this:

We can thank Hubble for refining information about an impending collision of our galaxy with Andromeda. Between 2002 and 2010 Hubble painstakingly measured the motions of 15,000 stars in Andromeda. Conclusion, Andromeda it is currently coming this way at 246,000 mph and accelerating as it gets closer. At that speed I could travel from Tucson, AZ to Pembroke, Ga in 28 seconds.

Wayne,
I made that trip several times but continued on to Gila Bend and Phoenix but not at Andromeda speed.
That would be convenient, maybe, but you would miss all the interesting scenery between places.
Now everybody knows I'm sort of strange but I really liked driving across Texas.I don't think it is boring.
Thought it was very interesting with many different types of scenery.

Fox News got 3 experts to deny that galaxies were going to collide and that there were any other galaxies at all, and that all of the planets still rotate about the Earth in a perfect circle.
Just remember: what horses consider play, monkeys consider business, but to Tom it’s all foolery.
Re: Hobo Jungle
Duh! Everyone knows the Earth is the center of the Universe. Ptolemy's geocentric model was used to prepare astrological and astronomical charts for over 1500 years, it must be correct. What do you think, the Earth revolves around all planets? Hello, that would be impossible! Thank goodness for Fox News, the last stronghold of truth we have. Thank you for reporting on Fox News' exposure of the galaxy fallacy Rufus--I can stop checking on Andromeda every night to see if it is too close yet.

They also announced that to stop the next asteroid from impacting the Earth that they will be speading a 10 square mile piece of paper in its path since everybody knows that paper wraps rock.

Re: Hobo Jungle
I remember 10th grade Earth and Space Science that all the galaxies move away from each other, which could only mean that space is expanding.
Rufus, are you sure that Fox wasn't just hounding crackpots? Like they say on Fox, "We report, you decide". Give me a link to that report.

Sure, the north Texas panhandle looks barren but the person who takes beautiful photos of miniscule
plants in the Sonoran Desert knows it is much different from what appears.
