Mitch Man and Hazel.............me and Patty are really sorry to hear about Sampson. It's really hard to let them go but there will be brighter days ahead............. :)

Me and Patty got home tonight and my son Ricky pick up a rotweiler puppy that is blind and bought it home. He told us the Amishman was going to put it down because it wasn't worth anything to him. (He breeds and sells them). Well after hearing that you can figure out the rest of the story. I hope this puppy makes it thru all the lovin' it is gittin'................. 8)

It is so sad to loose an old friend but our new Border Collie puppy helped fill the void and bring happiness to our family.

My Border Collie is the most energetic dog I have ever seen. He's skinny because he runs around all the time, but is so strong I can hardly hold him when out walking and he sees a kid on a scooter, small bike, skateboard or especially a trash truck his herding instinct is really strong. He spends most time outside because he gets bored in the house, he likes to keep a eye on things.

Hev's, thanks for sharing the photos of you and Jim. Never met him in person, but you could tell from his posts what a gentleman and kind soul he was. Rest in peace, Jim.

And thanks to the veterans.

Jim Perrine was a veteran.

San reports, "The news about Jim is sad. How could I forget his silly Avatar and somewhat bemused postings. That he would pass and we did not know..."

San is still running his trains and riding his bicycles in addition to spending more time at church (recommended by his job's executive training.)

San revealed that he has found some new opportunities at work. They (work) have been supporting him in terms of executive stamina training and coaching. He adds, "It leaves me with little time for the Forum. But you know I love you guys."

I hope they don't work you to death San.

Drop off for a few, and see what you miss?

First, Mitch. My condolences. A good dog or cat really is a rare friend. The bond is purely voluntary and lasts the lifetime. Give Hazel a hug from us all and have at least a handshake for yourself. We're with you both.

Regarding Jimmy, I had no idea; it is the gentle soul who passes quietly (Hev, mate: Thanks for the photos). Jimmy's presence here always was cheerful and unpretentious. The highest accolade is his; he was a gentleman.

Mitch sorry about your dog really hurts to lose them I have buried a few german shepherd trained dogs over the years people say they will never get another one but your missing something special never had two just alike. Buried yuri and kita a year apart. My new dog is half german/czech shepherd all black 130 lbs and a real character. My wife really feels safe with these dogs. Hope you find another good one Mitch that will help with the wife heartache. chief

The dog issue is too difficult for me.

I am very sentimental and nostalgic although I try not to show those characteristics.

Nuff said.

At the beginning of this forum, it was Jimmy P, Katy, and myself for a time, so I've always felt a special affection for the Perrine. I raise my glass to you, Jim, your straightforward kindness, your consistent good humor will be missed. Cheers to you in heaven.

Over 1,000 acre brushfire near the shooting range we go to frequently. Can't tell by the TV how close it is, no wind but hot. The firemen have in the past used our range as a base camp type of thing.
My friend got a Redlight camera ticket, $490 + another $80 or $90 to go to traffic school. Los Angeles city discontinued Redlight cameras as so many scofflaws didn;t pay and they were very questionable if they helped prevent accidents. I looked online and it looks like if your a responsible person you have to pay but if you have the intestinal fortitude to ignore it there are no real consequences.

I wouldn't be motivated to try that in NJ, PA, or NY; maybe that's just me.

I got one in Savannah,GA.It cost $78.00.
I don't think they hunt you down but if you get stopped again for anything that light ticket is the same as a warrant and they take you to jail.
I paid mine at once.I didn't get notification until seven weeks after the event.I then had a month to pay it.

At that high a ticket in VA they'd be at your door with a warrant if you ignored it, since you'd get a court summons and not just a ticket because you had to be going fast enough to be tagged as "reckless" and with that charge applied you could get up to a year in jail. That charge in VA reciprocates with DC, MD, and PA, and may further....

I have had my picture taken twice by red light cameras in the city and never received notice. Mail delivery errors are notorious out here on rural route 7. Or maybe I am out of their juriscitation. (Spell check is baffled by my spelling of jurisdiction.)
