Your getting personal and it is none of your business. :( And you of all people have no room left to criticize anyone.

Yes Murph, we all prayed the suspect would be discovered. Some for revenge, some so they would not be the victim of his/her next fire. The police and forest service received tips, but no suspect was ever named.

The fire, called the Aspen Fire, has been determined by the U.S. Forest Service to be human caused. An area of 20 by 20 feet is narrowed down to where the fire started along a Marshal Gulch trail on Tuesday, June 17. While several people were questioned, and placed near the scene, no charges have been filed in connection to the blaze.

No arrest was ever made.

Isn't that exactly how life is. Every once in a while, the rabid, self-absorbed jackasses poke their heads up out of the primordial slime of their self-focused lives, and do something heinous that messes it up for the rest of us, who are just tryin' to make our way to and from work and play, make it through each traffic-light w/out being jacked, park w/out being mugged, and return home to find everything still where we left it? Eh? Huh? ......etc.

Or am I just being too cynical? Anybody agree, or do I need taught a lesson about life?
Murph

Murph,
I agree even though I have never lived like that I am near to where it happens.

I agree with you, Murph. We all just try to make it through life with just our normal everyday problems that arise just from living, but there is always some ba$tard who will mess something up for everybody involved. One lunatic shoots up a school killing several, and millions of law abiding citizens must suffer gun control laws that affect only them, not the criminal or lunatic. One moron discharges a hazardous waste into a lake that is also a water supply for a community, and all fishing/boating privledges are banned. One careless person fails to extinguish a campfire, or worse, tosses a cigarette, creating a massive forest fire, and the great outdoors is lost to the general population for several generations in the least, with the destruction of adjacent homes and/or families lost; the worst that can happen. One person objects to a nativity scene or a menorah in front of the county courthouse, and the entire county population and visitors lose the celebration of Christmas. You can keep on countin' the things that one person can do to screw hundreds and thousands of people, knowing there's nothing you can do about it, because there's also just a few who believe if you take away the privilege that the abuser violated, you can make it safer for everyone. Bull!!! I wish the government would stop tryin' to protect us from ourselves and let us live.

That last post of yours says more than a lot about you, Murph, and it's not very flattering...
I always noticed that you never mentioned having kids. I know you were a teacher..., but I always got the impression you never really liked them... kids.
Sy

Well, I sure as hell can't let this unnecessary post go unchallenged.

I've met Murph, and spent a couple of long afternoons with him, which is more than you have done, when he trucked a couple of hundred miles out to R&T to meet me and Hev. Over the last couple of years, I've found him to be as kind, gentle, and as gracious as anyone I've met. He is always a thoughtful voice of support and reason here on this forum, and as far as I'm concerned, his credentials as a person, a teacher, and a human being are unimpeachable. If you were to ask their opinion of Murph of every other person here, I think you'd find yourself in a very lonely spot.

I have no problem whatsoever with you taking personal potshots at me; I find it clinically interesting. But as a friend of Murph, I'm saying (as I did when you castigated Tramp) that when you attack him, you're attacking me too.

Leopards don't change their spots, and apparently neither do you, which is exactly the prediction I was making when we went at it all those months ago. I appreciate you helping me make my point. It was one of the safest predictions I've ever made.

I can't believe what I am reading. Are you attacking Murph? Murph who always has a kind word and encourages modelers of all skill levels. Of all the nasty, aggressive, mean, half insane people that post on these forums you choose Murph to throw rocks at? The Murph that rarely has a negative opinion and never a cruel word for any of the members? I ask you sir, Have you no shame?

Murph the prophet said, "Every once in a while, the rabid, self-absorbed jackasses poke their heads up out of the primordial slime of their self-focused lives, and do something heinous that messes it up for the rest of us..."

And behold, one pokes its head up spewing insults. That would be you tgo sy. Must you obsess on this subject? You are messing the Jungle up for the rest of us. Just drop it.

You were wrong to slag off Murph, Sy. There's nothing wrong with what he said, he's entitled to feel so angry that he used the most descriptive terms he could. What was done deserved that kind of anger.

I drove cabs in and out of New York and often to Harlem and the projects. I've been mugged, held up and generally had several encounters with low life scum, looked down a few gun barrels too. Idiot druggies saw me picking up blood from doctors offices and thought there was something in the case they could use.

The cops arrested me for slamming one such guys head into the sidewalk and he used the opportunity to run away.

Yesterday my wife and I spent an hour picking up broken glass - beer bottles - from our community beach and also the cigarette ends and other trash the low lifes dump on the ground when there are huge empty trash bins right there. So yeah I can sympathize with Murphs feelings.

Dont be such a self righteous prat.

Wayne, your post really got me laughing. Thanks!

Dirt, I don't remember being castigated. Doesn't it usually hurt?

You can always tell the ones who don't drink enough beer and who don't get laid.

You hobos would be shocked at the riffs D is pounding out on the electric. There is something about a cute woman playing a Stratocaster. Hard to beat. Anyone want to see a photo?

Tramp, it's another word that sounds somethin' like castigated that really hurts.

Yes, we want to see the pics. Hell, how about video with sound? How is Daisy with some Santana?

Tramp, LOL! Time to hit the Merriam-Webster, you crackpot. If there is ANYONE who's 'nads are still intact, it would be you. 50% of the reason Daisy fell in love with you. (The other half is you got a nice house). :D

Count me in with wanting a photo. I'm picturing a Pete Townsend splayed-feet leap while doing his trademark 'windmill'.

8) 8) :D
