I beg to differ, Mitch. It is a great depth of field. If it was a shallow depth of field, the fish head would be in sharp focus and the angler would be soft. Also, any wide angle lens will produce the same effect.

Dennis,

Mitch was referring to... if the fish and fisherman were deep in the field of view (far from the camera) there would not be such distortion of size. (Correct me if I am wrong Mitch.)

Oh shit, I'll get in touch with all the postcard printers and tell them they're wrong, scrap 'em all.

Seems like talkin' about any subject here anymore is kinda like playing solitare when you're lost in the woods. Sooner or later, someone will come along and show you a move you missed, then you can ask him how to get out.

I'm sorry, Mitch. I didn't mean to offend. I didn't say it couldn't have been taken with a cheap camera nor that it wasn't an old photo trick. I'm fully aware of the technique. In fact, that's the only way it could be done with a an old fixed lens camera. I was only adding that one can now do it with a wide angle lens.

My differing with you was only with depth of field as I understand it. If you meant what Wayne said then disregard my remark about that. I meant no disrespect with any of my comments.

No, not really. It was an image editing error. I did not want to start over just to restore the
hat so added a second lie (the first being that was a fish I caught) about my hat burning.
I had second thoughts regarding how funny it was and removed this "mine's bigger" image.

Wow! This one got out of hand. I was poking a bit of fun at Wayne's doctored image, NOT the shot of Mitch and his catch! That is a true monster!

Hi Daisy, That tree seems fuller and larger than last years, right? It is spectacular, making the whole place dreamy.
Thanks for such nice Holiday wishes by showing us - sharing w/ us - that piece of your wonderful home.

Exactly. The feeling of Christmas in what I see there.

And I'll take a Jack Daniels & Coke, instead,if you're feeling generous, my dear lady.
Thanx.
