Yeah, but what are they doing there? Also, doesn't that shrouding on the background engine look like - esp. at the top of the boiler - The Southern Pacific (sans red & orange livery) ? Eh? :?

It's rare to look at a photograph that you can also smell and hear.

Get this. Interesting new marketing ploy.

A new supermarket opened near my house. It has an automatic water mist-er to keep the produce fresh. But more than that, just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain.

When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and you experience the scent of fresh cut hay.

In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal grilled steaks with onions.

When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle, and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.

The bread department features the smell of fresh baked bread & cookies.

I don't buy toilet paper there any more.

LOL Pete!!

I think is Buffalo NY for two reasons, one Canadian engine, second the tower in the back looks like NYC buffalo depot.
Remember that NYC pass cross Canada to reach buffalo.

What a cool and totally true thing to say.
Yes, I can smell and hear the whole roar/rumble/throb/chest-rattling mega-machine of it all. Nothing like it. Nowhere. And soon, not ever again, I'll bet, sadly.

LOL, Murph!!! I don't know about the word, smart!! But I've never run out of beer on a Saturday night in 27 years if that counts for anything.   Like you, I'm still trying to figure out why two engines would be coupled like that as well! (maybe the Canadians were still trying to figure out "double heading"  ) I'd be willing to throw my chips in with Hev n' Andre that it's Buffalo, N.Y.

And not running out of beer on any night is testimony to your common sense and intelligence, indeed, not to mention admirable hospitality! :D You da' man!

Dirt:

There is a store like that in New Milford Ct. where my son lives and its called Stews.

If was fun to go there. Plus you go through the store only one way and just follow the road in the market with your cart. But don't pass anything up that you want or you have to go through the whole market to go back around.
