Re: In the News
The funny thing about bias is that those most guilty of it think it's something only the other side exhibits. I'm far from fond of the liberal media, but you have to be biased to the point of brain-dead to think Fox is presenting balanced coverage.

Re: Seen in Print
Speaking of tests of faith, am I the only one who senses a lack of it, when viewing so many churches with lighting rods attached to them?

By law they are allowed to knock. They’re not allowed to walk in the grass or park in your driveway. The law allows people to walk up to your door and knock. They must leave if you ask them to I saw a sign that said “ due to the high price and shortage of ammo. A warning shot will no longer be offe...

Re: Williams FM Trainmaster
I only have two Trainmasters, and are both from Williams. One is the tangerine and blue CNJ in your video and the other the green CNJ version. Like all Williams engines from that era, they are the most dependable engines you can run, if for no other reason than their simplicity. The closest thing to...

Re: Coronavirus:
This isn't all that complicated. Nature cures overpopulation in one or both of two ways: Starvation and/or disease. We are an arrogant species that continually thinks it's immune to the laws of nature and we are continually proven wrong.

Re: Gerard Station ID Help
Thanks. I trust a published book over an individual auction listing so It seems to not be the 59. My roof is gray. I'm seeing everything from light gray to dark gray to a blueish color online. I suspect the photos of some might possibly be off as well.

Re: Gerard Station ID Help
Yes, that appears to be the one but I did see a listing or two with the lighted one identified as the 2959 as well: https://www.ebay.com/i/173860254107?chn=ps And since my first post I also found the 2970, adding more confusion. It's not an end-of-the-world problem. I just want to note the correct m...

Gerard Station ID Help
While attempting to inventory my Marx collection I'm trying to confirm the model number of the Marx Gerard Station I have, either No. 2959 or No. 2960. I have the three wiring post, illuminated version, as opposed to the two post whistling only one. Logic would suggest the higher model number is the...

Re: Mothers' Day
Just another Hallmark Holiday and excuse to sell things as far as I'm concerned. But I grudgingly participate, for my wife's sake, who enjoys it. I feel the same about Father's Day. I don't need any more crap that will someday just clog a landfill. If anything, I'd want my sons to go fishing with me...

Re: vaccine
Easy to point the finger and criticize. What are the logistics involved in dispensing the vaccine? How much of the problem is A-holes who sign up and don't show? How long does it take to ready vaccines like the Pfizer that need to be stored under extreme conditions? Maybe these people who are dolin...

I ran a tree service for a while after working for several others. Buckets will never totally replace climbing. There will always be trees in backyards and other areas that are inaccessible to bucket trucks or cranes. I do know of tree services that do not have climbers. They simply pass up the jobs...

It's a disturbing observation on our society that so many consider knowledge a vice and ignorance a virtue.

Very sad indeed, Both Barrett and Ed Boyle were two of the class acts over there. I've enjoyed the articles of both over the years, and each had both the class and good business sense to stay out of the majority of the forum discussions, posting only when there was something positive to contribute....
