The Cleveland Indians could go back to being the Forest City Spiders. The last time they used that name they set a record for consecutive losses that remains unequalled in professional baseball.

Re: Seen in Print

I flew from Painesville, Ohio to Fon-Du-Lac, Wisconsin and back in a Great Lakes biplane in 1980. Spent one night in a sleeping bag under the lower wing. Navigated using paper maps following lakeshores and freeways. Part of the flight was in rain. The rain would build up into a giant drop on the bot...

Re: Friday Funnies

Back in the 70s my folks had a small farm outside of Newcomerstown, Ohio (just down the road from Gnadenhutten, two freeway exits south of Zoar, on the hill above Mudsock). My mother decided to raise goats so my brothers built a pen and three goats were purchased. The goats kept climbing the fence s...

I have navigated on the Erie Canal. A friend of mine offered me the chance to take a short excursion on the canal. 24 foot lock: http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1317/13760548/24844277/414299378.jpg Gears: http://pic20.picturetrail.com/VOL1317/13760548/24844277/414299381.jpg [/url...

O scale in October Model Railroader

There is an article about Bernard Kempinski's Civil War era layout in the October Model Railroader. The article focuses on the modern methods he uses to model the U.S. Military Railroad.

Re: Car Thread

In regards to Ford vs Ferrari it will be interesting to see how much of the movie is about Ford vs Ferrari and how much is about Ken Miles. Who will the movie pin the controversial end of the race on? When I went to the 1967 U.S. Grand Prix at Watkins Glen they had the Gurney/Foyt Ford MKIV that had...

Re: NWSL

Save the NWSL pdf.s so that when you're looking for gearboxes on ebay you can find the part numbers you need. Most ebay listings only give the part number and don't include the ratio or axle and drive shaft sizes.

The PBS series American Experience is going to be showing their segment on the 1920 Wall Street Bombing. Worth watching if you have an interest in history.

Re: NWSL

I placed a substantial order with NWSL in late May. I used the cart on their website and PayPal because their phone mailbox was full. Today I got an email from NWSL stating that the products I ordered were discontinued and a refund to PayPal of my payment. I attempted to phone them but their mailbox...
